Want a Fun Holiday Diversion? See My Art at My Solo Art Exhibition
The first Friday of December, I’ll be opening a solo exhibition of my art in downtown San Jose. This is as much of a surprise to me as it is to you! The universal energies lined up just right so that I’ll be able to celebrate and share my art throughout the holiday season.
Live Demo was a Blast at Autumn Art Fair
The live painting demo on Saturday at the School of Visual Philosophy Autumn Art Fair turned out to be a great success. I was a little skeptical that I’d be able to accomplish anything substantial in one hour, and I actually didn’t accomplish much as far as completing a painting, but I accomplished a lot as far as demonstrating how I work through the process of creating one of my paintings.
New Paintings Premiering This Weekend
Varnishing is finished on ten (10!) new original acrylic paintings. I’ll show them for the first time this coming weekend at the Autumn Art Fair being held at the School of Visual Philosophy. I hope you’ll bring your kids and come to enjoy the fun, including artist demos (myself included), a bazaar, fun activities for all ages, a yummy bakesale, cornhole, food and beverages.
Mini Flower Fields Coming Soon
I’m working on eight 5×7 inch mini flower field paintings for my two open studio events coming up in November. The above collage shows four of the paintings, still in progress, but close to completion. If you’re looking to add more affordable original art to your collection, please stop by one of my open studios to check them out or message me to drop by at your convenience.
November Open Studio Events
Two fun open studio events are fast approaching in November, both in my studio at the School of Visual Philosophy in San Jose. I have new art in the works for both events, including larger paintings as well as affordable 5×7 inch mini paintings. Both events include family-friendly events and opportunities to find unique hand-made items for sale.
How Does a Painting Come Together?
“What location inspired this landscape?” is a question I’m often asked. When I try to explain that there’s no specific place involved and my paintings just sort of come oozing out of my head, I get some odd looks. I need a better way to explain this, so I’ll show you some of the stages my paintings go through in this post.
