Description
20×16 inches acrylic and mixed media on canvas, 1 3/8 inch deep.
Pinwheels are a lot like lilies. They’re sparse, with only four or six colorful “petals”. Lilies have a sparse, refined elegance, showcasing a variety of warm, rich colors. When the wind spins a pinwheel, it looks as if it’s composed of nearly continuous petals. This painting gives my representation of what a lily might look like if it were to let loose and spin in the wind with wild abandon. When you need to loosen up and look at things with a new spin, think of “Pinwheel Lily.” Has some gold foil around the petals.
